Pretty awesome… My first response on my Gumtree ad ended up being a high school student looking for tutoring help for a Legal Studies assignment. So he had already signed up with Vygo, but can’t really use it because it requires being a current Uni student, but I encouraged him that at least he’s ahead of the game.
Also, I was able to find on Gumtree a good potential tutor who studies at UQ and seems to be pretty close to where he’s at. Also, I offered to take a look at what he’s got so far. It’s due on Thursday, so I definitely felt like I wanted to do what I could to help him out. Not charging of course, as I really don’t know how much I can help, but at least I may have managed to get him hooked up with the kind of tutor that he’s after, and I’ve made a contact for the future maybe.
I asked him if he has any plans for where he wants to take his studies, and he doesn’t have a clear idea of what he wants to do yet, but he’s wanting to get to Uni. It was nice to ask him if he had any idea, and he said his mum had been asking him the same question the other day. There is definitely a fair deal of pressure at that age to try to figure out what you want to do with your life. It’s definitely not that easy…
